Special Event to Commemorate

150 Years Anniversary of the start of Greyfriars Bobby's Vigil

To Commemorate 150 Years of Greyfriars Bobby’s Vigil, the Skye Terrier Club are organising an event on 4th May 2008. They are meeting on the Castle Esplanade at 1.45pm, some of them will be in period dress with their Skyes Terriers. The procession will start at 2pm down the Royal Mile and into Greyfriars Kirkyard, for a service and blessing at 2.30pm.

The Scottish Branch the Skye Terrier Club will be laying a wreath on Bobby's grave. The procession will be led by a piper and 'John Gray' with 'Bobby'.

Special permissions for the dogs to go onto the Esplanade and into the kirkyard have been obtained.
